DuraSpray

Description

DuraSpray is a low viscosity (~ISO 5) custom blended polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic hydrocarbon lubricant. Due to its unique properties, DuraSpray provides significantly improved lubrication protection over broader temperature and speed ranges than is possible with the use of conventional mineral oils. DuraSpray is available in standard industrial container.. as well as in aerosol cans which dispense through the use of a CFC-free environmentally friendly propellant. In addition to excellent lubricity, DuraSpray includes a tackifying agent that not only reduces fling off and dripping for effective oil control, but its adhesive/cohesive nature also reduce lubricant volatility which is often a concern with low viscosity lubricants. As a result, lubricant remains where it’s put to provide lubrication with less lubricant mist. Excessive stray mist not only contaminates the work place, but provides no lubrication benefits.

DuraSpray components comply with FDA 29 CFR 178.3570. The finished product complies with USDA HI approval for use as a lubricant in federally inspected meat and poultry plants where there is possibility of incidental food contact. DuraSpray’s very low viscosity makes it an ideal product to penetrate into tight tolerances and provide a tough, durable lubricant film even during high speed, high temperature service. DuraSpray is compatible with virtually all types of elastomers and conventional lubricants, however, contamination with other mineral oils may lessen the effectiveness of the DuraSpray product and the resulting mixture may no longer be in compliance with FDA 29 CFR 178.3570 and USDA HI regulations.

APPLICATION:

DuraSpray was initially designed and developed to meet the needs of the dental profession as a highly effective lubricant was required to reduce wear on the turbine component found in dental handpieces. Daily autoclaves resulted in excessive turbine replacement at a substantial cost. Kent Oil met the challenge by developing DuraSpray. For best results dental handpieces and angles should be re-lubricated daily after removal from the autoclave or as described in the handpiece instructions from the manufacturer. Although initially designed for dental handpieces, DuraSpray is an ideal multi-service lubricant recommend for use wherever a low viscosity penetrating lubricant is required. Its food grade rating and extremely low pour point (-97F/-72C) make DuraSpray ideal for use in various food industry applications particularly where a low viscosity synthetic lubricant with low temperature capability is necessary.

DuraSpray can reduce squeaking, sticking and binding as it protects metal surfaces from rust and wear. Reduced wear results in extended parts life and reductions in costs associated with parts replacement. Due to its low viscosity, the penetrating capability of DuraSpray is unsurpassed allowing it to quickly enter into the tight tolerances of high speed chains such as are encountered in 2-piece aluminum can manufacturing ovens. The superior film strength of the synthetic base fluid assures that the equipment is well protected even at elevated temperatures. DuraSpray further reduces costs of operation by inhibiting rust, cleans and protects as it displaces moisture that can result from condensation and humidity. Through its highly effective penetrating action and unsurpassed lubricating characteristics, the use of DuraSpray can often result in significant reductions in chain cleaning maintenance, lost productivity and excessive downtime. The highly effective lubricating, as well as, rust and corrosion inhibiting properties can dramatically extend component life thereby reducing overall operating costs related to lubrication.
